The contest is open to all fourth grade students in the state. Participating students are asked to create an anti-drug message with artwork relating to the topic, “Fun Things to Do Instead Of Doing Drugs”. Last year’s Finalists’ artwork poster is enclosed (in the maling you received) for display in your school, and the order form for free substance abuse prevention folders for your fourth grade students, is also enclosed. Folders will be distributed on first come, first serve basis. The contest is offered to you and your students free-of-charge.
(Please note that the information in the studies mentioned in footnotes 4, 5, and 6, came from Reading for Pleasure: A research overview done by the National Literacy Trust, November 2006.)
